Wells for homes, acreages and pastures
We bring the same rig and licensed crew to a house well that we bring to an irrigation well. On the High Plains, a domestic well is drilled through unconsolidated sand and gravel and finished with casing and screen.
We drill:
- Domestic wells for homes, new construction and acreages
- Livestock wells for pastures and pens
- Replacement wells
- Wells for shops, barns and small commercial properties
How a house well generally goes
A house well starts with a conversation about the location. Some wells need a permit before drilling, and we provide answers to questions regarding permits. The well is drilled, cased and screened by a licensed driller, then developed. The pump, tank and controls are installed by a pump installer.
Permits and state rules
In New Mexico, house wells and livestock wells both need an Office of the State Engineer permit before drilling. In Texas, domestic and livestock wells under 17.5 gallons per minute are exempt from High Plains Water District permitting.
Texas and New Mexico both set construction standards for water wells, including how far a well must be from septic systems, property lines and livestock pens.
